(sneak preview of Mo. Lyn's article in the Register)
is a gala being held this month at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. It
has been dubbed the 50/40/30/18 Celebration. Here is the significance of
50 years since Emmanuel Episcopal began its ministry at the Fullerton YMCA
40 years since Emmanuel Episcopal Preschool opened its doors.
30 years since Father Rob Bethancourt, the rector arrived at Emmanuel.
18 years since Mother Lyn Crow, the associate rector arrived at Emmanuel.
lots to celebrate, lots to be grateful for. Most of all we are grateful
for the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit during all those
years of ministry. We are grateful for Father Paul Edwards and his
ministry as rector for the first 31 years. Grateful for all the amazing
people who have attended through the years and who are the church.
Grateful for the incredible ministry that has been and continues to be
done through these people. Grateful above all that Emmanuel is a "Grace
Place", a place where the grace and love of God can be experienced. And
of course, grateful to be a part of the wonderful city of Fullerton.
The celebration is being held Sunday September 29th
beginning with the church service at 9:00 am and followed by a BBQ,
lots of entertainment, a bounce house for the kids, a silent auction and
who knows what else. Emmanuel alumni are coming from all corners of the
nation to celebrate with us. Visiting dignitaries include The Rt. Rev.
Diane Jardine Bruce, Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Los Angeles. The
public is invited to come and celebrate with us.
