Into the Arms of Jesus
Thanksgiving for Betty Jo Brown
was a shock upon paying Betty Jo a visit Wednesday morning for Mo Lyn
and I to discover that she had died in her sleep Tuesday night. It turns
out that her son Rob had snuck in their dog for a hug and evening
greeting, after which she went back to sleep with a smile on her face
and died peacefully later that night.
Jo Brown was a central figure in the life and history of Emmanuel.
Faithful in attendance, friend to many, hosting home groups and counting
contributions for years, she will be deeply missed. You always knew
where you stood with Betty Jo and if she was your friend you had a
friend for life. Even when she was going through her own health
challenges, she always had the time and energy to be interested in how
you were doing. She was a beautiful and spunky example of Emmanuel: God
Their will be a memorial service for Betty Jo on Saturday, February 15 at 11am.
eternal grant to her, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon her.
May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of
God, rest in peace. Amen
