 Dear   ,

Summertime, and the living is easy. (Or at least we hope at least a little bit easier.) To help us enter into some relaxing refreshment we are planning a Picnic BBQ at the end of the month. Check out this issue for details. Plan to join us in some summertime fun!

Blessings,
Fr. Rob & Mo. Lyn

Emmanuel Picnic 2014

---------------------------------------------------------The last Sunday of this month will be a 5th Sunday, so we'll have a single service at 9am (with a special Catechesis meditation by Ginger Cash) and then a BBQ at Clark Regional Park. There will be lots of good food, plenty of fun, and a dip/salsa competition with prizes (so bring your favorite dip!). Also, bring along your favorite outdoor chair, some comfy clothes and a good appetite. Lots of fun for kids of every age!

  • FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES
Come join us on Friday, June 27, at 6:30 PM for the 'The Court Jester', a hilarious story of mistaken identities, starring master comedian/actor/singer/swordsman Danny Kaye in his best-known performance. Set in medieval times, it's a high-energy musical spoof of Hollywood's lavishly costumed classic swashbucklers-think 'Robin Hood'! 'Court Jester' features some of motion picture history's best comedic wordplay as it cleverly blends the movie musical, adventure-swashbuckler, screwball comedy, and live-action cartoon into one satisfying romp.

  • LABYRINTH WALK WITH FR. PAUL

The Pathway to Peace: Labyrinth walking for dummies. Learn to walk ninety percent of the Chartres Labyrinth in one session.  You can walk it daily in your home to deepen your spirituality. The Seminar will be held on the second Saturday of the month, 11am to 1pm

So, Emmanuel ladies, consider this your invitation! Check your calendar and consider joining us for food, fellowship and lots of fun!

Emmanuel God Stories

I love to hear  how the Holy Spirit is working in our midst. Recently I received this delightful email from Jean Eden:
________________

Hi Fr. Rob: WOW! or maybe WHOS (What Happened On Sunday). Communion has just ended, Dottie Dobies giggles and grabs my hand (never done that before). We are all singing "Abide In Me" and I look up - the whole congregation is out of their seats, in a big circle holding hands. I find myself doing a sort of Scots-Brazilian dance step and see that Janet Chism and Lyla Merril on the other side of the sanctuary are doing the same. WHOS!

In the parking lot I run into Patty McDaneld and volunteer to help with the picnic. She says "What do you want to do?" I hear myself say "Face-Painting". Huh? Where did that come from? What fun! What Is God Going To Do Next?

Love in the Lord,

Jean

I was afraid we missed the opportunity to capture Suzanne's Pentecost attire. Fortunately, Carolyn saved the day with this great photo of her version of the tongues of fire look!
