| Dear , |
blessings for the upcoming celebration of Holy Evening! Now we usually
call it "Halloween", but that is what the word meant when it was first
started around 1745. It is the evening before All Saints Day. So ... may
we remember the saints this week--those like St. Francis and St.
Theresa, but also the saints who never made the books--people we've
known who showed forth the love and light of Christ. This coming Sunday
we will "Sing a Song of the Saints of God" and will remember those who
have inspired and served. Thanks be to God for all the saints!
With much love,
Fr. Rob and Mo. Lyn

FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: Join
us at Emmanuel's monthly 'night at the movies' on Friday, November 21,
6:30PM, for four-time Oscar winner "Friendly Persuasion"! Set in
1862, the movie tells the story of a loving Quaker family, the
Birdwells, dealing with the heart of family, faith and pacifism as the
Civil War inches ever closer. It's warm, charming and beautifully made!
As always, admission is free, refreshments are available, and the
company is wonderful!
CHRISTMAS CHOIR BEGINS NOVEMBER 23. Contact
