Thanks be to God for the gift of Jesus! The Son of God has entered our world and has made it holy. This Gift of God has entered our hearts and has redeemed our souls. May the awe and wonder of the shepherds, the joyous celebration of the angels, and the deep devotion of Mary and Joseph be yours this Christmas.

With love in Christ,
Fr. Rob+ and Mo. Lyn+

Christmas Services

Christmas Services
We will have two services on Christmas Eve (Thursday night).

The Christmas Eve Family Service, which is especially designed to include children, will have an impromptu Christmas pageant and communion in the church, followed by a birthday party for Jesus with balloons, gifts, and cake in the parish hall. Delightful, spontaneous, and fun. This service will be at 5 pm

The second service will be the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service with choir and communion. Beautiful, uplifting, and divine. This service will be at 10 pm.

On Christmas Day (Friday) we will have a service with music and communion. Intimate and heartwarming. This service will be at 10am. Annie Bethancourt will be singing a Christmas song which she recently wrote.

Come join us to celebrate the entrance of Jesus into the world and into our hearts!

  • "Talking" Christmas Tree! Look for the new "Talking Tree" in Havermale that Deborah has developed as part of her Masters program. The question is "Christmas. What is important to you?" Take a leaf and write your response on it and then attach it to the tree. Soon our tree will be filled with Emmanuel celebrations!

  • Our own Joe Cirrito, an LAPD officer, is leading a homeless ministry named Project Hope. Go to this website to read more about this ministry and help support him!

PS. For those who heard Joe speak at the 8:15 service last week, the young boy in the photo is the one who gathered 500 sweaters for the homeless.

A big "Thank you!" to all the people who have helped prepare the way for the wondrous celebration of Christmas and the gift of Jesus--especially Debi and those who came to help with the Greening of the Church last Sunday.

Here, Allison is joining in with the Emmanuel Youth Group to bake some Christmas cookies for the church. I (Fr. Rob) am eating one as I type this message. Delicious! (Now how do I get the crumbs out of the keyboard?)
