You are appreciated! We hope you felt that this past Sunday as we celebrated all the wonderful ways in which the Holy Spirit has worked through this amazing community of Emmanuel. Sometimes we hear that "things just sort of happen at Emmanuel". Although the Holy Spirit is most definitely the prime mover, it is through the "yes" from people like you that the Holy Spirit has so many opportunities to be active and that Emmanuel is such a warm and wonderful place to be. Thanks be to God and thanks be for you!

With gratitude,
Fr. Rob & Mo. Lyn

Thanksgiving:
Emmanuel Annual Celebration
and BBQ
We give thanks not only for a Spirit-filled Annual Meeting but also for the wonderful BBQ. Special thanks to Ernie Moran, Lyla Merrell and for all the people who helped with setup and cleanup. What a beautiful time together! During this chapter in our world's history when there seems to be escalating tensions and divisions, often the most healing action we can take is to spend time with other cultures and peoples--one on one--to help build bridges of friendship. I think God was smiling last Sunday when we shared a BBQ with our Korean brothers and sisters. It reminds me of the Psalm 133: See how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in harmony!

  • GOT A TRUCK? For many years we supported Epiphany East LA with their thrift store ministry. When they closed that ministry we redirected our contributions to Zion Lutheran Thrift Store. If we are going to continue to do this ministry, we need someone who is willing to pick up the contributions from Emmanuel once a month and bring them to the Lutheran Thrift Store. Here's the info:

    Zion Lutheran Thrift Store
    1109 E. Commonwealth Ave.
    Fullerton, CA 92831
    Ph. #714-879-1147

Drop offs are on Friday and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm
If we are going to drop off a large amount of items, it would be helpful if we notified them ahead of time.

    Contact person: Michele

If you can help with this, please contact Pam Notti, Fr. Rob or Mo Lyn. Thanks!
