Sunday we wondered together about the difference between being externally and internally motivated. We learned that when we are externally motivated we rely on people and things "out there" to discover our own value, while being internally motivated means we know and discover our value from the One who dwells within. We also learned four steps to help us stay in touch with that One, and the joy of moving through life knowing our ultimate worth, and free from trying to earn the approval of others.

Last Sunday was also our first try at singing our new song of the month. It was glorious! Can't wait to sing it again next Sunday!

With much love,
Mo. Lyn+

We Are So Proud!

We just learned this week that one of our members has distinguished herself in the national church. Deborah Cantwell has curated an artists' exhibit for the Episcopal Church Visual Arts called Telling God Stories in the 21st Century. There are 65 exhibits in total.

Here is thelink:

The mission of the ECVA is to encourage artists and organizations to engage the visual arts in the spiritual life of the church. ECVA values the significance of visual imagery in spiritual formation and the development of faith, and encourages those who are engaged in using the visual arts in spiritual life.

We have an amazing resource in our midst. Deborah uses her gifts in incredible ways here at Emmanuel, including in her ministry to our young people, and with our elderly. She has also used her artistry to enhance our worship during Advent and Lent. Take the time to get to know Deborah and her passion for the arts. She is amazing!!!!
