Oh my goodness, how time flies when you are having fun! Advent has begun and by the time you get this, the second Sunday of Advent will be approaching. Last Sunday we pondered the Christian truths...Christ has come, Christ is coming, and Christ will come again. We realized that the fact that Christ has come, is proof of God's love for us. Because God loves us passionately, God simply couldn't stay away from us and the creation. We heard about the parousia when the time of choosing between good and evil, right or wrong, will be over and God will be all. It will be a time when all of creation will be exactly as God intended it to be. No more pain and suffering, no more pollution, no more victimizing, no more hurt. Paradise in the truest sense of the word. And then we wondered together about the ways in which Christ is coming, again and again in our lives. Right now. In small and hidden ways. In the same way Christ came as a baby in a barn. And we heard about ways that we might be awake, alert, so that we don't miss those moments. Because it is those experiences of Christ's presence that help us go through our lives with joy. May we spend this Advent season looking for those moments!

With much love,
Mo. Lyn+

Las Posadas
Sunday December 10th at 6:00 pm

Las Posadas has become an Advent tradition at Emmanuel. First there is the journey around the campus by candlelight knocking at the doors of different inns looking for a place for Mary to give birth to the Christ child. At the last door we are welcomed by a friendly inn keeper and we have an amazing tamale feast hosted by the Ortiz family. Then there is the fun of the pinata enjoyed by the children. Come join us!!!
