The beauty, depth and sense of celebration present in our worship services often strike people that attend Emmanuel for the first time. And while that first time of worship at Emmanuel can be an amazing experience, what is even more extraordinary is how, once attending Emmanuel regularly, the sense of God’s presence in the community here just seems to grow and bless each individual.
Often, after worshipping here for a while, individuals feel called to participate in the various ministries that support Worship. Those areas of support are Acolytes, Altar Guild (some of the Altar Guild are pictured at the Left) , Greeters, Hospitality, Lay Readers/Chalice Bearers, Music, Power Point (overheads), Prayer Team, Sound and Tape Ministry. There is even a group called the Sacramental Stitchers that is meeting together to sew new vestments, altar cloths and banners for the church. So, if that is your forté, there’s a spot for you too! The Emmanuel Leadership Tree can direct you to the various people that lead these different areas, or you can talk with Fr. Rob or Mo. Lyn regarding any areas of interest.
Once a year we have what has been called “Worshipfest.” All are welcome. This event provides an opportunity to learn about various groups that support the worship at Emmanuel, and to be trained in a couple of those areas. There are no strings attached, but after training, if a person is interested in participating in Sunday worship, they are incorporated into the various schedules of their group of choice. Any person, young or old is welcome! There are NO closed groups here.
