First Week in Pentecost, 2010
 Dear Rob,

Well, we sure had a mighty wind outside and some spunky fire inside on Pentecost! Hope your week continues to be filled with the lively gift of the Holy Spirit!

Single Service this Sunday
And a Special Blessing of the Garden!

Garden Preparation

This coming Sunday, May 30th, is Trinity Sunday, and will be a single service at 9am, followed by the blessing of the Emmanuel Community Demonstration Garden. (Thanks be to God for the wonderful in-kind donations of the retaining wall, irrigation system, and electrical setup that is being installed this week!) Afterwards, we will enjoy a delicious BBQ (with George's award winning jambalaya!) and have a chance to enjoy each other's company. It will definitely be a wondrous day. You might even invite any neighbors or friends who like gardening, or grilling, or Godly worship!

Thank God for Bonnie!

After fifteen years of faithful service to Emmanuel, Bonnie Selmanaj will be retiring at the end of this month. She served for many years as both Parish Coordinator and as Bookkeeper --doing double duty to help keep the administrative life of this congregation flowing in a smooth and effective way. She has also gone above and beyond the call of duty as she visited people who were shut-in or in the hospital, organized trips to the theater, spear-headed our gift-giving to Epiphany, coordinated volunteers and ensured that receptions and celebrations at Emmanuel came off without a hitch. Bonnie has worked tirelessly and often well beyond her allotted hours in the office. She now can enjoy a well-deserved rest. I can hear the Lord saying to her, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Unfortunately, Bonnie won't be able to come to our single service celebration on Sunday, so I thought I would encourage y'all to write her a note or drop her an email to let her know your appreciation for her years of commitment and dedication.  (Her email address is
Thank you, Bonnie, for all that you have done for us!
