 Dear Gene

We have entered into the season of Advent! May your Advent adventures be filled with joyful preparation for the coming of Christ, again and again and again!
With love in Jesus,
Fr. Rob and Mo. Lyn

 GRACEfilled Expectancy

(Several of you asked that I include the GRACE acronymn from last Sunday's sermon in this week's Blurb. So here it is!)

IgnatiusThis is my adaptation of the Examen, a spiritual practice developed by St. Ignatius. Ignatius of Loyola, who lived from 1491 to 1556, was a knight from a Basque noble family who had a conversion experience during his recovery from a battle wound, and eventually became a priest. The Examen helps us to develop the ability to notice the presence of Christ during our day, and to live in expectancy of his appearing in our future. I've used the acronym of GRACE to help us remember the steps. I usually practice this in the evening before retiring.
G-gratitude (What were the blessings of the day?)
R-review the day (See what was forgotten or hidden.)
A-acknowledge what didn't work (Shows need for God.)
C-call on God (Asking for his mercy and loving assistance)
E-engage the future (Pray for the next day.)
Try it out during this Advent season and see if it helps prepare your heart for more of Jesus!
Fr. Rob

 GRACEfilled Recovery

(I loved this report from Carolyn Cardamis who is recovering from bi-lateral knee surgery)

30 DAYS OUT                  THREW MY WALKER OUT

32 DAYS OUT                            TOOK MY FIRST JACUZZI

33 DAYS OUT                                   THREW MY CANE OUT

TODAY, 34 DAYS OUT, I walked 6,360 feet in 3 different walks.

How many feet are in a mile?  (boasting, right?)

Thanks for your prayers...

Great photo from Cathy Corr that celebrates the uplifting experience that she, Jeff McDaneld, and a merry band of BLESS day participants had beautifying and maintaining Emmanuel. Thanks be to God!

Upcoming Events

Contrary to the announcement on Sunday, Taize is not tonight, but next Wednesday, the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm as usual.

Do your Christmas shopping at church:  The Preschool is having a Christmas Boutique on 12/3 from 9-2, featuring beautiful handmade crafts and gifts.
Wondering what to give that person who has everything?  How about a donation to the Capital Campaign in the name of that person?
