 Dear Gene

Blessed Ash Wednesday! If you haven't had a chance to attend a service yet, we still have one tonight at 7:30 pm. Also, if you attended an Ash Wednesday service and didn't get your free Lenten reflection booklet by Henri Nouwen, let us know and we'll get you one!
With love in Christ,
Fr. Rob and Mo. Lyn

Soup, Salad, and the Holy Spirit!

Jen Wagner

It's hard to believe, but Lent has begun! Seems like we just had Christmas. This year Emmanuel is planning a 6 week Lenten program called Soup, Salad, and the Holy Spirit. It will be held each week of Lent on Thursday at 6:oo pm beginning February 23rd. That's tomorrow night!

The evening will begin with a soup and salad bar followed by prayer and praise songs, an introduction of the evening's topic, a witness talk by one of our parishioners, small group discussion, and a closing prayer and song.

This week we will have a witness talk by Jen Wagner. I love the stories she has in mind to share with you. I think you will find them very moving and uplifting.

The class topics include Creation and Creativity, Fall and Redemption, Receiving the Holy Spirit, Nurturing Life in the Spirit,

Ministry-Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts, and Miracles-Stories of the Kingdom. The program will be an updated and contemporary version of the Life in the Spirit seminars that were so popular here at Emmanuel a number of years ago.

Come join us in the SHACK room to hear stories of Emmanuel, to grow, be refreshed, and to feel more deeply connected with this wonderful community of Christians.

When Life Gives You Lemons ...

Lemon Tree

Y'all come and pick lemons from 'Father Paul's Eureka Lemon Tree' - the oldest thing in the garden. There are lots of lemons and they should be picked and used - maybe someone would like to make lemonade for a Sunday morning! Amazing what a little water and prayer can do to revive a dying tree and make it so prolific!

Kathy and Cauliflower

Speaking of prolific!
Kathy, the one who thought she had a brown thumb, grew this amazing cauliflower in the Emmanuel Community Garden. She asked for prayers and God answered them big time!
