Blessed Epiphany season! This is the time in the church year in which we celebrate the light of the star that led the wise men to Christ, and the light of the Spirit that guides our way and reveals fresh wisdom. May your Epiphany be filled with God's epiphanies!
With love in Christ,

 Epiphany at Epiphany

Our sister Parish

I give thanks for the wonderful celebration at Epiphany, East Los Angeles, this past Sunday. Several speakers celebrated the historical and spiritually significant role that Epiphany has played in areas of civil rights and social justice. Emmanuel was honored for our 40 year support of their ministry, and about twenty of us led the community in singing "We Are Marching in the Light of God" (complete with scarves and assorted rhythm instruments!) A highlight for me was seeing the children of the congregation re-enact the journey of the wise men as the congregation sang "We Three Kings". The Eucharist was followed by a sumptuous feast and great fun in a packed parish hall.

May the Holy Spirit continue to bless their ministry and our hearts connection with each other.
