This week we celebrate some of our treasured members--here on earth and resident in heaven.
Much love in Jesus,
Fr. Rob & Mo. Lyn

 Dr. Mougo Boniface Azariah Nyaggah

August 8, 1937 - March 29, 2013

W Mougo Nyaggah e give thanks for the life of Mougo Nyaggah, a beloved member of Emmanuel. Mougo, who was born in Kenya, was a professor at Cal State Fullerton, and had also taught History and Anthropology at St. Mary's College, History at the College of the Holy Names in Oakland, Afro-American History at the College of San Mateo, and Swahili at UC Berkeley.

Mougo was a kind and generous man, who--together with his wife Lynette--enabled a number of crucial projects at Emmanuel to be completed, and insured that all of their extended family members who wanted an education would be provided the support needed. He also had a great sense of humor, and would tell stories on himself. Most of all, he loved the Lord deeply, and lived a life of service in a profound and faithful way.

I always loved the light of Christ that shone in his face. I especially treasure the look on his face last Easter Vigil, when the prayers of he and his mother were fulfilled as Lynette gave her life to the Lord and was baptized in the waters of God's love and grace. We will miss you, Mougo!

There will be a memorial service for Mougo at Emmanuel, this Saturday, April 13, at 7:30 pm with a light reception following in the parish hall.

Fr. Rob

May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

 Transgenerational Celebrations!

Allie at City Hall

This past couple of weeks we've had several members of Emmanuel in the news.

Allie was in a school play that was such a big hit with the Mayor of Fullerton that he asked them to come share it for a meeting at City Hall. (The play was all about the City of Fullerton.) It was a huge honor, which included newspaper coverage and a special award. Congratulations to Allie and friends!

Also, this past week, Karen Carr, was asked to speak about L'Arche Wavecrest on a radio show. The interview is entitled: L'Arche: transformational relationships and community, with Karen Carr. You can listen to this inspiring talk by going to this link:  Karen Carr Interview
