 Dear   ,
Mo Lyn talked about her "two angels" this week in her sermon. Hope you, too, notice the angels God sends your way and let them be a sign of God's great love and care for you!

Thanksgiving for Betty Jo Brown

    Betty Jo Brown

It was a shock upon paying Betty Jo a visit Wednesday morning for Mo Lyn and I to discover that she had died in her sleep Tuesday night. It turns out that her son Rob had snuck in their dog for a hug and evening greeting, after which she went back to sleep with a smile on her face and died peacefully later that night.

Betty Jo Brown was a central figure in the life and history of Emmanuel. Faithful in attendance, friend to many, hosting home groups and counting contributions for years, she will be deeply missed. You always knew where you stood with Betty Jo and if she was your friend you had a friend for life. Even when she was going through her own health challenges, she always had the time and energy to be interested in how you were doing. She was a beautiful and spunky example of Emmanuel: God with us.

Their will be a memorial service for Betty Jo on Saturday, February 15 at 11am.

Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Youth Luncheon this Sunday!

ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 9 Fr. Rob and Mo. Lyn will be hosting a luncheon in the SHACK room from noon until 1pm for young people 10 to 18 and their parents. We'd like to strengthen the ministry that Emmanuel does in this area, so we want to hear your ideas about how we could provide an awesome environment for our young people. The areas we would like to explore would be fun & friendship, spiritual growth, and making a difference in the world. We need your thoughts and prayers! Come join the revolution. :)
