 Dear   ,
What an amazing Holy Week and glorious Easter. Ginger Cash said it was the best Good Friday she had ever attended and Judy Gibbs asked why this Easter was even more glorious than usual. Perhaps it was all that prayer for the Holy Spirit we did during Lent! In any case, we are grateful for you, your faithful prayers, and for the beautiful ways in which you continue to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 Meeting with Bishop Jon

On May 11, Bishop Jon Bruno will be visiting us at our 10am service to preside in the confirmation of eleven Emmanuelites! Afterwards he will meet with the leadership of Emmanuel and we will have a chance to share some of the ministries that have meant so much to this congregation. We don't often get a chance to see Bishop Bruno and this will be a great opportunity to hear him preach, receive his ministry and to pray for his ongoing health and well-being.

Please also pray for those who will be preparing for confirmation on May 11:

Andrew, Jacob and Joe Edmonds

Sarah and Emma Kremer

Bernice and Terry Lomheim

Come and support the Eleven on the 11th!

 Meeting with Bishop Mary

Mary Gray-ReevesWe have a wonderful opportunity to meet with Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves during May! Mary, who was a member of Emmanuel and sponsored by us for the priesthood, is now bishop of the Diocese of El Camino Real.

Mary has recently completed a book entitled "Unearthing My Religion - Real Talk about Real Faith" which is available online through Amazon and other bookstores. She will be talking about her book and the message of God's grace on Thursday, May 15, 7pm at Emmanuel.

I would encourage you to buy the book before her class and bring it for her to autograph. There will also be a limited number of books available that evening for purchase.

Come and meet one of our own, who has become one of the most significant bishops in the Episcopal Church!

 Pathways to Wholeness

                Quiet Day

The next four classes in this series will be held on May 3, 10, 24 and 31 at 3pm. Our own Suzanne Kaisch, experienced meditation teacher and spiritual director, will be sharing ways for us to become attuned to God's loving presence in our daily lives.

  Photo(s) of the Week
Fred Collin took this great photo of Kathy Palmer and granddaughter Katie prior to Katie's baptism at the Easter Vigil this year. They both were gazing at the pascal fire and the celebration of the risen light of Christ. So grateful for all the people that made these Holy Week and Easter services so special!

Gene Cantwell captured the magic of the moment in another scene from the Easter Vigil. Here you can see Franciso and Karla's nieces: Kimberly, Katelyn and Kaylany as they prepare for baptism.

Congratulations to all four of our newly baptized sisters in Christ and prayers for their ongoing journey with Jesus!
