Love Wins

A Book About Heaven, Hell,

and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived

Beginning this Sunday evening and continuing for each Sunday evening in September, we will be taking a look at a grace-filled and (for some people) controversial book by Rob Bell entitled "Love Wins". Terry and Bernice Lomheim will be facilitating a discussion on this book from 6 to 8pm in the SHACK room.

Here is the description of the book from the Amazon review:

In Love Wins, bestselling author, international teacher, and speaker Rob Bell (Velvet Elvis, Drops Like Stars) addresses one of the most controversial issues of faith-hell and the afterlife-arguing, would a loving God send people to eternal torment forever?

Rob Bell is an electrifying, unconventional pastor whom Time magazine calls "a singular rock star in the church world," with millions viewing his NOOMA videos.

With searing insight, Bell puts hell on trial with a hopeful message-eternal life doesn't start when we die; it starts right now. And ultimately, Love Wins.

  • Join us Friday, September 26, at 6:30 PM for the Oscar-nominated film "Field of Dreams"!  Starring Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones and Burt Lancaster, it tells the magical story of relationships reclaimed and dreams fulfilled--all on a baseball diamond in the middle of a cornfield in Iowa.  Admission and refreshments, as always, are free.  "If you build it, they will come."

A little photo representation of the kind of playful, prayerful, time we have on Wednesday mornings. Eucharist starts at 7am, where we reflect on scripture, share our prayers and thanksgivings, and enjoy Eucharist. We're out the door before 8am and off to Coco's for breakfast, where the conversation ranges from Alaskan adventures to zoological zeal--and everything in between. You are welcome to join us any Wednesday for all or part of the fellowship and fun.
