 Dear   ,
We have a couple of post-Thanksgiving thanksgivings to celebrate! Take a look at what some of our Emmanuelites are doing for the community!

With gratitude for you,
Fr. Rob and Mo. Lyn

Emmanuel Serving Saints!

Volunteers fom Emmanuel delivered 73 hot Thanksgiving meals at Brethern Manor in Long Beach as part of Volunteer Action for Aging's annual holiday meal give away. VAA, which is part of SCAN Healthcare, delivered 2500 meals on Thanksgiving morning in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, and San Diego Counties! I am grateful we could be a part of bringing the Holiday Spirit to our seniors!!! ~ Patty McDaneld

Birthday Wish Fulfilled!

For her birthday, the Babcock's grandaughter Allyssa decided she wanted to help children who were less fortunate than her. Here's what Thom had to say about that adventure!

What a great day we had yesterday celebrating Allyssa's birthday! After starting the morning with a surprise visit to Allyssa in school we continued last night by taking 700 pounds of pasta and sauce and $680 in cash and checks that we had collected to the restaurant where the fund raiser was being held. Allyssa got a mention on the live KFI broadcast and several big hugs from Bruno the owner of the White House Restaurant for making the charity part of her birthday celebration.
Many thanks to all who helped make this happen.

Emmanuel Up and Coming

Movie Night: Come join us at Emmanuel on Friday, December 19, 6:30PM, for the 1947 Best Picture-nominated classic "The Bishop's Wife".  Set at Christmas-time, it's a delightful fantasy about a harried Episcopal bishop who prays for a new cathedral-but receives a dapper undercover angel named Dudley instead!  Humor and warmth blend effortlessly as angel Dudley's decidedly human presence affects the bishop, his wife and everyone else Dudley encounters-all for the good.  Stars David Niven, Cary Grant and Loretta Young!  As always, admission is free, refreshments are served, and the company is stellar!

Virtual Labyrinth: Walk the Walk for Peace and Direction, Sunday at 12, bring your friends!

Lomheim's Home Group will skip it's regularly scheduled meeting in December so that folks can attend the Advent Program. We'll see you next month!

Preschool Fundraiser: Come visit Fuddrucker's on Orangethorpe for a meal between 11am to 9pm on December 4th and a portion of your bill will go to Emmanuel Preschool. Easy way to feed yourself and feed the preschool! Bring a flyer along (extra ones are in the church)!

Have you seen our new cross?
After conducting the walkabout with Bishop Diane, we realized that we blend in so well with the neighborhood that people don't even know we are here! This celtic cross is a way of announcing who we are!
