Emmanuel Annual Celebration

Emmanuel Worship
Come celebrate the dazzling bouquet of Emmanuel this Sunday! We will have a single service at 9am, where we will have a photo journal tour of the year. Then, after a little snack break, we will conduct the Annual Meeting, where the budget will be presented, new Vestry members elected, gratitude gathered, and vision explored. Finally, we will end our celebration with a mouth-watering BBQ presented by Ernie and friends. Bring a side dish to share, if you have culinary talents. Our Korean brothers and sisters will be joining us with some surprise dishes and it will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know them and deepen our friendships with one another! Ya'll come!

  • Friday Night at the Movies
Here's a great way to start the new year! Join us on Friday, January 22, at 6:30PM, for the 1938 classic "The Adventures of Robin Hood". Sumptuous and highly energetic, this 3-time Oscar winner is grand, cinematic pageantry at its Technicolor best. It's the archetypal Hollywood swashbuckler: rousing, lighthearted, witty, romantic, colorful, moralistic, and richly satisfying. Hollywood legends Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, Basil Rathbone, Claude Rains and a host of other fine actors bring the classic story of love and bravery to life against a rollicking, uplifting musical score. As always, admission and refreshments are free, and the company is stellar!
  • Pruning Workshops
The garden year begins in January with pruning. Our vineyard grew amazingly in its first year; building a strong root system that will support the vines for many years to come. But now it is time to prune almost all of the growth away. Grapes fruit on new growth wood, so we will be pruning them back to just two lead canes per vine. We will begin this process on Saturday, January 16, from 9:00 am to noon, continuing on January 23 and 30, or until all the vines are pruned. In case of rain we will just push the Saturdays out into February.
We encourage all to come and help, especially if you sponsored a vine or two. Stay for as long as you can - feel free to bring any interested friends. Please bring with you: pruning clippers, gloves, wear a hat, and put on some sunscreen. If bending over is a challenge, you can bring a stool to sit on.
Pruning really not your thing? How about volunteering to bring drinks, to suite the weather, and snacks for the workers?
    See you in the Vineyard!

  • Bill Donoghue has been moved to A&A Home Care in Anaheim (3166 W. Teranimar Dr.) I just spoke with him and he wouldn't mind some visitors, but probably best to call the home first to make sure he isn't overwhelmed. The number there is 714-995-8000.
