Thanksgiving for The Rev. Paul Sung's amazing talk on forgiveness. Now we get to hear The Rev. Cindy Voien speak on gratitude. What a beautiful way to end our Lenten Series and get ready for Holy Week.

With love in Christ,
Fr. Rob+ and Mo. Lyn+
P.S. Holy Week is next week!

The Rev Cindy Voien will be speaking this coming Thursday at 7pm. She will help us reflect on gratitude--which we think she lives out in a beautiful, engaging way. Come and enjoy this last offering in our Lenten Lineup!

Holy Week Services
Holy Week

Holy Week is such a profound time in the life of a Christian. From the Hosannas of Palm Sunday, through the cross of Good Friday, to the resurrection joy of Easter, when we walk with Jesus we discover the secret of this season: the way of the cross is the way to LIFE!

Come join us for this transformative journey.

Maundy Thursday will be observed on Thursday, March 24. "Maundy" comes from the Latin word "mandate"  for the new mandate or command Jesus gave us to "love one another as I have loved you".The Maundy Thursday service will begin at 7:30pm where we will join with Jesus and the disciples in footwashing, prayer, and communion. This year we are focusing on prayer during the footwashing time. You can pray through the washing of feet or through private intercession. Pray for your family. Pray for the world. Pray for the church. It was during this night that Jesus asked us to "watch and pray". While we pray, classically trained Sarah Yim and her daughter will be offering quiet instrumental music.

Good Friday services will be held on Friday, March 25 at 12-3pm and then later at 7:30pm. The services will be the Stations of the Cross, where the clergy will reflect on each part of Jesus' journey to the cross. After each group of three reflections there will be an opportunity to participate in the stations in a way that will be healing and empowering.

This year we are blessed to have The Rev. Kathy MacKenzie, The Rev. Cindy Voien, and The Rev. Don Koepke join with Fr. Rob and Mo. Lyn during our 7:30pm Service.

Easter Vigil is a time of devotion anticipating the dawn of the resurrection and acknowledging the light of Christ which is able to overcome any darkness. This service will be held at 7:30pm on Saturday, March 26. During this service we will have a procession of the pascal candle, a candlelight reflection on the promises of scripture, baptisms, celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, and communion. One of the most beautiful services of the church year! [Special note: This year three of the Edmonds' grandchildren will be baptized. ]

Easter Services will be held at our usual Sunday times of 8:15am and 10am on March 27. Both services will have choir and communion. Bring your bells for the gloria (an ancient tradition), flowers for the cross, and eggs for the hunt (a dozen plastic eggs with non-melting goodies would be great!) After the service Patty and Jeff McDaneld will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn for the kids.

Together we will deepen our devotion to Christ and make room for the Holy Spirit to empower our lives for service as we remember the way of the cross and the power of the resurrection!

What better way to celebrate El Nino than "Singin' in the Rain"? Join us Friday, March 18, at 6:30PM for this rip-roaring 1952 MGM Technicolor classic! Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor star in one of the greatest and most successful musicals ever filmed--filled with memorable songs, lavish routines and Kelly's fabulous song-and-dance number performed in the rain. Coupled with priceless dialogue and a classic story, "Singin' in the Rain" is still a proven feast for the eyes and ears, full of charisma and intelligence and laughter. As always, admission and refreshments are free, and the company is stellar!
