This Sunday is going to be awesome. African Dancing, Million Meals Ingathering, Mouth-Watering BBQing. What a great way to celebrate Emmanuel: God With Us!

With love in Christ,
Fr. Rob+ and Mo. Lyn+

A Dancing Outreach Banquet!

We get to combine so many of the things that we do well this Sunday! First of all, to lift our hearts to God--inspired by Pross and her friends who will share liturgical dance in the African style. Secondly, to make a difference in the world by collecting money for Million Meals (now approaching 10 million meals provided by this congregation!). And finally to have a blast feasting and fellowshipping together as we enjoy some good food and good company.

When: Sunday, May 29th at 9am
Where: Emmanuel
What to remember: Bring any coins you've collected or a check to Emmanuel with "Million Meals" in the memo
AND a side dish to share at the BBQ if you are able.

  • Million Meals Ingathering
Bring your buckets of coins, checks, and any other kind of contribution on May 29th at 9am. Each dollar provides four meals for those in need through the Orange County and LA County Food Banks. Our goal is to reach the 10 Million Meals Mark! (If you write a check, make it out to "Emmanuel" with "Million Meals" in the memo.)
  • Are you interested in being a LEV
I want to invite any of you that are interested in joining the Lay Eucharist Visitor ministry.  In the last year, I have been blessed to be with many that are unable to attend church (due to being shut in or ill), by sitting with them, sharing stories and most of all sharing Eucharist.
Many times I go thinking I may not know what to say or do with the person I am visiting, but the Holy Spirit always arrives just at the right moment.  I leave each time thinking what a blessing to sit, listen and be with those that can't attend church with us.  It's an intimate time, a gift, a double blessing for each person, you and them.
If you are interested in being a LEV or would like to know more information, please contact me:, 714-446-9670. We will be having a class in the near future.
    Thank you, Jen Wagner

Garden of Paradise!

The Emmanuel Community Demonstration Garden continues to be a blessing for our community and the surrounding neighborhoods. We had another great turnout for the monthly (third Saturday of the month) plant sale. Here Gordon, Warren and Charley are enjoying the fruits of their labors (which in this case were mostly vegetables!)
