Not only did we bless animals last Saturday, but we were reminded what a blessing animals are to this world. Thanks be to God for all of God's creation.

With love in Christ,

Blessing of the Animals

Last Saturday we had a wonderful time celebrating the gift of God's creation as we blessed dogs, cats, horses, snakes, and a variety of our beloved furry (and scaly) friends. Not only Emmanuelites, but many of our neighbors gathered together on the front lawn to join the celebration as we sang, prayed, and glorified God.

News Flash

  • Is it pronounced FRANK-en-stein or FRON-ken-steen? Find out on October 28, 6:30PM, when Emmanuel Movie Night presents "Young Frankenstein"! Filmed in glorious black-and-white, Mel Brook's comedy classic brilliantly and lovingly spoofs the original in scene after scene. Gene Wilder, Terri Garr, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn, Peter Boyle, Kenneth Mars and Gene Hackman(!) deliver inspired performances. Admission and snacks are free, and the company is stellar!
  • People who weren't at the service Sunday heard about the video that Fr. Rob created for the gratitude sermon and wanted to know how to see it. Here is a link: Under the Sea (Be sure to turn up the volume.) The song "Creation Sings" is by All Sons and Daughters
  • Other Notes from the Garden
    • Poinsettias - It is time to place Poinsettia orders for the holiday season. The plants will again be beautiful and come from Armstrong Nursery. They are available in 6" and 8" in red only. We have to pay for the plants in advance so we thank you for paying in advance - bring your check book. This is also an opportunity to purchase plants for use in decorating the church for Christmas.
    • Plant Sales - Our Plant Sales have been so successful that Charley and I are running out of containers. If you have old nursery pots and would like to donate them to the garden they would be very welcome. We can use anything but the 6 pack type. You can bring them on Sunday or just leave them on the Garden Hut deck.
    • Thanks for your faithfulness
