This week we have two significant events on Saturday. In the morning all who are interested can come to the Deanery Assembly where Bishop Cathy Roskam will celebrate Eucharist and the Deaneries will plan for mission and ministry in 2017. In the afternoon, we will hold a memorial service for Bill Donoghue at Emmanuel in the afternoon and celebrate his life and the life Eternal. Check out this issue of the Emmanuel Blurb to find out more.

With love in Christ,

Joint Deanery Assembly
at St. Andrew's, Fullerton

St. Andrew Groundbreaking
Leaders from Deanery 9 and 10 will be joining together to prepare for Diocesan Convention, to celebrate Eucharist, and to conduct business that furthers mission and ministry in each of the Deaneries.

Bishop Cathy Roskam will be the celebrant, with Janet Wylie preparing us for convention and Fr. Kirby Smith presenting the financial picture for the Diocese. After the Eucharist, we will divide into separate Deaneries and conduct our business. One of the things we'll be looking at in Deanery 9 is the possibility of doing Laundry Love as a Deanery. (If you don't know what that is, come and find out!)

The Assembly will take place on Saturday, November 12 from 9 until noon. at St. Andrew's Fullerton ( 1231 E Chapman Ave). The people of St. Andrew's will be providing refreshments, so plan to arrive around 8:30am so you can enjoy their hospitality!

Memorial Service for Bill Donoghue

Bill in his kilt

Bill Donoghue was an amazing person in this world. As police officer, hostage negotiator, lover of all things Irish, Vestry member, faithful Emmanuelite, and ten thousand other expressions of himself, Bill brought humor, compassion, support and service into this world. Come on out on Saturday at 4pm to join in with your brothers and sisters in celebrating his life, praying for his journey from glory to glory, and hearing stories of the Kingdom of God. !
