Lenten Series: Tales from the Madhouse
Tales from the Gladhouse
This week: Karen Carr

How can we truly have a full and rewarding life? This week there will be a compare and contrast between the video portrayal of the rich young ruler--as he seeks to enjoy the good life by having it all to himself, and Karen Carr--who gave up so much to work with people with disabilities and discovered something profound.

[By the way, the video that portrays the rich young ruler is very mysterious. You'll have to look closely at the setting and the man himself to notice the nuances. Very interesting!]

Come on out to explore the good life and have a discussion about what really matters. Thursday night at 7:30pm in the SHACK room.

  • Emmanuel Lenten Evangelists.
Many find our current times to be stress-filled.  Some will use yoga and exercise to relieve this anxiety.  Our public parks are places they can come to work out, especially on Saturdays.  One stress relief exercise not available in our parks is a labyrinth walk.
Emmanuel is looking for volunteers to help grow the Church by joining a Chartres Virtual Labyrinth Walk at 11 AM in Independence Park.  People walking in a single line together  attract attention, bring others in to join the line and offers a sharing time after the walk.
This would be the first, only and ever walk held in any park.  It could bring new people interested to learn about Emmanuel and perhaps come and join with us.  We are looking for volunteers to walk one Saturday hour or more during Lent.
