March 23, 2017

Our Lenten journey is a remembrance of both what we must surrender and what we may choose to cherish. This week we have an opportunity to do both. Check it out in this issue of the Emmanuel Blurb.

Lenten Series: Tales from the Madhouse
Tales from the Gladhouse
This week: Dan Notti

Is forgiveness ever an issue in your life? Are you an expert in knowing how to forgive? Do you ever feel like you could learn more about forgiveness--given and received?

If forgiveness is at all important to you, you might want to make a special effort to come out to this week's Lenten Series. We will hear a tale from the Madhouse about the inability to forgive, and then hear from Dan Notti, the husband of Pam Notti, about how he learned about the power and possibility of forgiveness. Dan is a business professional who also ministers to the homeless and reflects deeply and honestly about what is significant and transforming about the Christian life.

Come on out to explore what makes for effective change and have a discussion about what really matters. Thursday night at 7:30pm in the SHACK room.

Memorial for Judy Gibbs

We gave a tribute to Judy in last week's blurb, but wanted to remind people this week that we will be having a memorial for her this Saturday, March 25th at 4pm. There will be a reception afterwards (either in the garden or the parish hall--depending on the weather).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel for a bench in the children's garden and a festive white banner for the church--two of Judy's loves!

May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
