What an amazing celebration of ministry we had for Father Rob last Sunday. It was even more glorious than we had hoped for. The music was heavenly, the video poignant and funny, Eucharist uplifting, and the meal divine. The entertainment couldn't have been better and the gift for Fr. Rob was so generous. When he left that day, his feet were barely touching the ground! Thank you all for the outpouring of love and the sharing of your gifts to make it such a special day.

With much love,
Mo. Lyn+

Blessing of the Animals
This Saturday 4:00 pm on the front lawn

The Episcopal Church has long taken a pro-animal stance in which we are all reminded that animals are gifts from God and that we are all responsible for being good stewards of the earth and all that dwells in it. In keeping with this belief, it has been tradition in Episcopal churches to have a Blessing of the Animals service each year around the time of the Feast of St Francis which falls on October 4 th.
St Francis of Assisi is well known for his love of animals. There are stories of him preaching to flocks of birds, convincing mosquitoes not to bite him, and a wolf to stop stalking humans and livestock in Gubbio, Italy where he lived.
Emmanuel will have its blessing of the animals this year at 4:00 pm on October 7 th. It will be held on the front lawn and all pets are welcome. There will be prayers in thanksgiving for God's creation and the gift of animals, and each pet will receive an individual blessing. They will also receive a St Francis medal to attach to their collars or cages. Last year there was a huge turnout of dogs and cats as well as a goat, some horses, a miniature horse, and a snake (which was safely housed in its habitat!)
Come join us in this wonderful time of appreciation for God's creation and the special pets who share our lives with us!

A Letter From Fr. Rob

Dear People of Emmanuel,
My heart is so full of gratitude for you and for the wonderful send-off you gave Cindy and me this past Retirement Sunday. So many of our extended family members commented on what a loving and welcoming community you are. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making the day so special: from the choir and all who were involved in worship, to the reception with its amazing feast and touching tribute. I would like to give a special thank you to Jane, Howard, and the members of their team who worked so hard to create a memory of a lifetime. Thank you for all the expressions of heartfelt and generous love.
My prayers are with you as you begin this next chapter in the life of Emmanuel. With Mo Lyn at the helm, the Holy Spirit guiding and providing, and all of you as ambassadors of Christ, I know that the future will be filled with the fruit of God's grace. You will always be in my heart, and I will never forget the amazing adventures that we have had together. I will look forward to seeing you from time to time and will treasure you always.
With love and gratitude,
Fr. Rob
