This week we celebrate the miracle of Gene and Deborah Cantwell's survival of a head-on collision. They were coming home from the grocery store after purchasing all the food they needed to create a birthday celebration for Doris Knape. After the accident, they were each transported to a different hospital, Gene to St Jude's and Deborah to UCI. The car was totaled. The amazing miracle was that somewhere between 2 am and 3 am they were both released to go home! When they arrived, the sweetest surprise awaited them. The fireman, who had Gene's keys to the house, had gathered up all the groceries in the car (believe it or not, the eggs survived the crash) let himself into their home, and  put everything away. The perishables were in the fridge, the rest in the pantry. Then he left the keys with a neighbor. It was an amazing example of God's servant love for two people who themselves were being servant love for Doris. God is so good!!!

In gratitude,

Mo. Lyn+

Sabbatical Time For Ken Peters

Believe it or not, Ken Peters has been our percussionist extraordinaire for 16 years. He certainly deserves a sabbatical. During this time, Ken is going to be sitting in the pews enjoying the worship. He will also be working on recording a CD with his group and learning to play his new electronic drum set. Thank you Ken for your devotion and commitment to Emmanuel's music program. May God richly bless this time of rest for you!

You can purchase a brick to celebrate that you or a loved one is alive!!!

The wonderful thing about these bricks is that you can be creative with them. There are lots of logos to choose from and many ways that you can express gratitude for a person or for your time here at Emmanuel. Buying a brick is a guarantee that a part of you will be here at Emmanuel for generations to come.

Photo of the Week

I received this wonderful picture just as I was working on the Blurb. It is from Jen Wagner, who is now living in North Carolina. She took it on her morning walk which is her favorite time. It was 35 degrees. I call it Jen's misty tree. It looks kind of mystical don't you think?
