I'm still in the Thanksgiving mood and today I am feeling grateful for Kathy Peters, our parish coordinator. Kathy in unbelievably efficient. She can do or fix just about anything including the computer when it has a tizzy. The other day I came into the office to find her on the floor putting her new chair together. She is amazing! Here she is with her two daughters Katya and Erin after participating in the annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day in Yorba Regional Park.

In gratitude,

Mo. Lyn+

Thanksgiving Outreach

Every year SCAN Health Plan contracts with Human Services Association to cater over 1000 holiday meals to be delivered to homebound seniors and their caregivers in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties on Thanksgiving morning. The meals are delivered by the Volunteer Action for Aging volunteers. This year a group of 20 volunteers made up of parishioners from Emmanuel and their families and SCAN employees and their families came together at Cityview, a senior building in Long Beach to deliver over 100 holiday meals and to wish 100 seniors a Happy Thanksgiving! We are so grateful for the generous gift of their time to those who might otherwise have been forgotten.

Movie Night Tomorrow Night!

Don't miss this one. It is based on the true life story of the lead singer of the Christian group Mercyme. It is a wonderful story of reconciliation and forgiveness. Join us in the SHACK room at 6:30 pm

Photos of the Week

Recently our favorite Army Captain, Sven Jenson was at Fort Irwin in Barstow to rank another battalion on their performance in a multi-day mock battle situation prior to their deployment to the Middle East. The traditions is to celebrate the battalion's end of training with a BBQ. Since the trained battalion won't be in the U.S. at Christmas, the soldiers at Fort Irwin gave them an extra early Christmas. Santa arrived in a Humvee!!!!
