Taizé

There is no preaching, no teaching, no talk of sin or repentance or forgiveness. There is just this elegantly simple service: short chants, often in Latin, English and Spanish, repeated over and over in the dark. Plus some short Scripture readings or psalms. And silence. In 45 minutes, it’s over.

Emmanuel Movie Night - Whale Rider

Join us Friday, July 26 at 6:30PM for the coming-of-age story “Whale Rider”! Weaving together universal themes of family, the need for acceptance, and the mysticism of ancient Maori legend, the film tells the story of Pai, a modern-day girl born into a long line of tribal chiefs. Writer-director Caro lyrically combines an effortless, mythic visual quality, an ethereal soundtrack and excellent performances, all set against the strange and beautiful New Zealand landscape. As always, admission and refreshments are free, and the company is stellar!
